FAINTING

Fainting
Fainting is a temporary state of loss of consciousness are usually harmless. But it needs to be distinguished from cases of epilepsy attack, stroke, and other causes of dangerous where consciousness is not quickly restored.
Symptoms
- All of a sudden pale, dizziness and nausea.
- Cold sweat, cold damp hand.
- Loss of consciousness for a while (usually no more than 50-10 minutes) followed by total recovery.
Common causes
Fainting is caused by a temporary decrease in blood flow to the head, which may be caused by:
- All of a sudden standing after sitting / lying down.
- Stand up for too long without changing position (eg, soldiers were apples)
- Pressure emotional (eg fear, anger)
- Physical pressure (eg, hunger stung hot / cold or pain)
All you can do
Relief:
- Lay the patient in bed / floor, with tilted head, (head not elevated)
- If the patient was in a pushchair head down as low as possible diatara both knees.
- Loosen tight clothing.
- If necessary, apply smelling salts or dribble of cold water on the forehead / neck to accelerate the recovery of consciousness. (Do not give anything by mouth if the patient is unconscious.
- Call the nearest doctor / ambulance if fainting allegedly dangerous because of other reasons.

- Treat the cause of fainting is harmless, if any.
Prevention
- If you must stand for long, motion movement of the toes constantly.
- Do not suddenly stand from a sitting / lying down.
- Eat regularly.
